Update on Ruddington networking

The Ruddington Business Partnership (RBP) has provided an update on its progress since launching and is inviting more local businesses to attend its networking meetings.

The RBP, a new business networking group formed in August 2011, has started well with a good mixture of firms turning up to the monthly meetings. Initially, the group was supported by its parent organisation, the Rushcliffe Business Partnership, but the last couple of meetings have seen more new attendees from companies based in Ruddington and nearby villages. Group organiser Ian Wilson of Rockhopper Evolution comments: 'RBP is growing steadily and really developing its own identity. We now have around 30 companies on our mailing list – but we'd love to see more of Ruddington's shops and "high street" firms represented at the meetings.'

Local businesses are certainly finding the group useful and were happy to sing its praises. One company described RBP as a '...great opportunity to show a commitment to Ruddington and the surrounding area by forging mutually beneficial relationships with other local businesses' while another firm said they've '..made some great business contacts and have already received several recommendations that have led to increased revenue.' Other attendees told us that RBP is a great way to meet likeminded business people to offer mutual advice and support as well as promote their companies. The informal meetings and friendly, relaxed atmosphere are also proving popular, with attendees free to 'drop in and out' as they choose.

RBP meets on the third Friday of each month, upstairs in Philo's, between 8am and 9am. All local businesspeople are warmly welcomed to come along and give the group a try. It's free to attend.
